More Concerts Postponed As Talking Stick Resort Slow To Re-Open Following Flood

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CelebrityAccess) — Talking Stick Resort announced that it will take them longer than expected to re-open their doors and that more planned concerts have been postponed.

The luxury resort and casino shuttered after a massive storm on August 11th left portions of the property, including its power plan and casino floor, flooded, leading to the evacuation of more than 900 people.

The property had been expected to re-open its doors on Sunday, but that has been pushed back with no updated timeline announced.

As a result of the involuntary closure, multiple events have been canceled or relocated from the resort, including Arizona State Poker Championship, the Keno Tournament and the Esports Arizona Red Bull Conquest and the Keno Tournament.

As well, a series of concerts have also been postponed or canceled. Affected shows include performances by Jauz, 3LAU, ventriloquist Terry Fator, DJ Diesel and a Labor Day weekend show by Zedd. As well, Canadian artist Burton Cummings and rock band Daughtry have all seen shows postponed with no rescheduled date announced.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the casino said: “While much has been accomplished over the last week, Talking Stick Resort will remain closed beyond the previously targeted reopen date of Sunday, August 19. Daily assessments have revealed that more time is needed to complete storm damage repairs and to replace the equipment required to ensure the property is up to the highest level of standards to which our guests have grown accustomed.”
